Bukembe West ward will soon be enjoying services of a Resource Centre funded by Bungoma County government to a tune of 13 million. The multi-function facility will be constructed at Ndengelwa an area that enjoys proximity to the Nairobi – Malaba highway
Being one of its kind within the County, the Resource Centre will comprise of;
- Social hall fixed with projector that can accommodate up to 200 persons
- Library
- Cyber Cafe; internet and printing services
- Recording studio
- Kitchenette
- Outdoor Cafeteria
Speaking to ikuweikuwe.com Bukembe West MCA Hon. Anthony Lusenaka could not hide his excitement saying apart from keeping the youths engaged the project will be managed the youths themselves. He indicated that the facility will not only create employment but will generate income for groups mandated to operate the various business opportunities therein.
Asked why Ndengelwa was an ideal location to such a facility, the Lawyer mentioned the availability of land and its proximity to Bungoma town, Nairobi – Malaba highway, proximity to social amenities nearby and other neighboring facilities like Ndengelwa Dispensary, Muyayi Polytechnic, secondary and primary schools, Police post and MCAs office.
The MCA in conclusion asked well-wishers within the county and beyond to help in equipping the facility with;
- Computers/ Laptops for the cyber
- Printers and copiers
- Furniture
- Books for the library
- 5 Recording equipment
