Faced with serious clean water problems in the entire county, the County govt of Bungoma has moved to make its provision and faster by acquiring a sophisticated drilling rig complete with a supporting truck that will be used to drill water in each of the 45 wards.

TESTING:

Bukembe West ward was blessed to be identified as the testing ground for this equipment… The County govt of Bungoma is therefore conducting a field test for the Water drilling rig at the recently launched Namirembe dispensary. The exercise which was meant to ascertain if indeed the equipment was up to the task as well as act as a training opportunity for County employees did take two days to drill 120 meter having first encountered water at 70m. The engineers nevertheless are determined to drill deeper so as to get to a level with sustainable water supply.

Bukembe West MCA – Hon. Anthony Lusenaka

Speaking to #iKUWEiKUWE Updates, the area MCA Hon. Anthony Lusenaka said…

One of my pledges during the campaigns was to provide clean drinking water to Bukembe West Ward residents.  It is on this premise that we budgeted for this Chengwali Water project. We have a replica of the same project at Chemche primary school and now another one at Namirembe dispensary.
Our plan is to drill two more boreholes at Kisuluni secondary School and Khaoya primary school if the budget allows.
This will see 90% of the Ward having clean drinking piped water.
The era of going to wells to fetch water is soon going to be a thing of the past.
As we speak, residents of Chemche village are all smiles as most of them have now been connected to basic and important necessities i.e Water, Electricity and good roads.
We also have other complete projects within 3 years of my leadership. This includes; –
    1. Two complete and functional dispensaries at Ndengelwa and Namirembe.
    2. We have constructed 15 classrooms (ECDs and VTCs)
    3. We have also put up an abolition blocks at Ndengelwa and Kitale markets to serve our business community on those markets.
    4. Our bodaboda sector has also not been left out. We have constructed 3 shades at Lutaso, Ngoya and Muyayi markets.
    5. We have managed to open 15 new roads as compared to only 2 that were done by former regime. There are plans to have all the roads muramed when funds are available.
Future plans:
Our youth have not been left out. We have budgeted to construct a Community Resource Centre that will comprise of social hall, computer school and a library that will be fun by our youths.
Women empowerment is key in our society. There are plans to purchase dairy cows this financial year for women groups so that they can also benefit from Governor’s flagship project of Dairy plant as they will have a ready market.
In summary, am focused on adding value to the people of Bukembe West Ward. That’s my vision and that’s my mission.
