Tuesday February 24, 2021 will go down as a dark day in Kabuchai Constituency following a series of violent attacks on supporters of one Majimbo Kalasinga. According to Junior; It all began early in the day when he being Majimbo’s supporter arrived home to find another aspirant holding a meeting on part of their family land. It’s at this point that he demanded to know why an opponent to his preferred candidate would choose his home as a meeting point. This prompted Gasper Wafubwa’s supporters who outnumbered him to attack him causing bodily harm before he ran home only to come back with a bow and an arrow. He was later taken to hospital by Simiyu Mutaki

Arrow attack video;

Later at night Kalasinga says; While at a Mayanja he was attacked by about 50 men armed with crud weapons who threatened to kill him prompting the bar owner to call the police. The violence escalated deep into the night as they engaged in cat and mouse chase from Mayanja to Chwele. The attackers also beat up Kalasinga’s men right inside the police station in front of the seemingly care-free policemen as Kalasinga’s team tried to seek refuge in the station.

Even the Police station was not safe for Majimbo and his supporters for they were again attacked, beaten under the watch of unmoved and care-free policemen

Majimbo Kalasinga narattes attack as he mentions attackers (video);

Both Gasper Wafubwa and Junior separately reported the incident at Chwele Police Station with gasper handing over the weapon Junior had

In a rejoinder;

  1. Kasembeli Watila distances himself from Junior’s attack saying he indeed shielded him. He also indicated that three vehicles have today Wednesday February 24, 2021 visited his home, a visit that he says was out to threaten his life since the visitors promised to torch his house at night.
  2. Diana who was present at the meeting insists that Gasper Wafubwa had a right to hold a meeting there. Junior was the aggressor
  3. Allan Wochwa informed ikuweikuwe.com that he was NOT involved in any confrontation with junior
  4. An anonymous Kakai’s supporter indicates that violence was ignited at Sulwe event where there was push and pull which ultimately announced the intention of Majimbo’s supporters to literally fight and belittle everyone. That’s why they also went to Mayanja to demand for a fight they never got, prove a point.

UDA’s Evans Kakai and FORD KENYA’s Majimbo Kalasinga have asked the police to investigate and bring the culprits to book

STATEMENT ON THE PURPOTED VIOLENCE METED AGAINST AN ASPIRANT IN THE KABUCHAI BY-ELECTION.
We have learned, regrettably, through Social Media, that one aspirant in the Kabuchai By-Election was purportedly attacked by youths as he enjoyed himself at a Local Bar in Mayanja. We do not condone violence of any nature and wish to condemn the incident, if true, in the strongest possible terms. Further, we wish to call for a speedy investigation in the matter since it’s coming barely a day after one of the candidates was on a local TV Station, Tandao TV, claiming to have used his power in the Government to influence the transfers of all the National Police Bosses in the region.
We therefore wish to ask our good friends to use the “friendly” police bosses that they brought to ensure that our security and that of all candidate is assured as we go about our campaigns. We are aware that these schemes have been used in the past to cry wolf to win sympathy votes and mete violence against opponents in the pretext of revenge. We await a report from the security agencies on the incident since the name of our candidate, Hon. Evans Kakai has been mentioned in the disturbing Facebook post.
With regards
