Webuye man risks own life to save an electrocuted KPLC employee

At around 10am today Monday, 5 July 2021 a Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) employee was electrocuted at Mwananchi market in Webuye. The employee identified as George Odongo was doing routine maintenance as announced by KPLC when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Wangila a passerby and witness decided to climb and save Odongo who was heard saying “nisaidie, sijakufa”. The brave KPLC casual employee only asked for climbers from scared KPLC employees onsite and without wasting time climbed up and saved the almost unconscious Odongo.
