MOTIVATION
God set me apart from conception to be president. Some time back in June 1972, my parents Mr. Paul Khakina Musungu and Mrs. Esther Khakina wanted to abort me when I had just been conceived for three (3) weeks. This was just after four (4) months when they had had a still birth that made my mother to undergo a caesarian delivery. My parents had fears that the womb had not healed so it was a danger to the life of my mother to have conceived me before end of 2 years.
The doctor who was to do the abortion in Kitale asked my mother “do you want me to kill the future Kenyatta (president by then)?” He refused to do it because he was convinced by God in his spirit that I was a special child that was to be a president in future. After the doctor refusing to abort me, my parents still determined to abort me went to see the doctor in Misikhu Mission Hospital who had performed the caesarian still birth and gave instructions not to conceive before 2 years. The doctor also refused to abort me but instructed my mother to be going for monthly check-ups to see if there shall be any danger to warrant abortion. Despite the bleeding by my mother during pregnancy, God kept me safe until I was born healthy on Saturday 17th March 1973.
Before my birth, my mother went through so many healthy challenges that friends always empathized. When I was born, all of them agreed that my name should be ‘Doctor Khakina’ because of the frequent visits to the doctor. My mother wondering how a child can be called
‘Doctor’ decided not to call me Doctor but to name me a name that is not related to the dead and gave me the name ‘Nyongesa’ being a name for a child born on Saturday. I was named Peter as a Christian name and Nyongesa as my name. Out of 20 children belonging to my father, I am the only one without a name of the deceased and with a bald head.
Currently, my name starts with Doctor (Dr.) because I am a PhD holder. The wish of the friends
of my mother naming ‘Doctor’ has been fulfilled. What is remaining is being the president. The journey of being president started in 2017, when I vied for Member of Parliament for Webuye East but did not make it. For 2022, I wish to vie for Governorship of Bungoma County so that in 2032, I vie for presidency so as to fulfil what God set me apart to be.
