THE MORNING SHOW ‘ENDEKHELO’ HAS BECOME A WANGAMATI’s CAMPAIGN TOOL

Journalists and presenters have occasionally shelved work ethics and openly exposed their political preferences while on duty which often attracts admiration and condemnation at the same time. Royal media Services Sulwe fm has not been left out.

Following a meeting at Bungoma members Club on Monday, June 13, 2020… 48 Bungoma MCAs resolved to boycott Sulwe fm morning show titled ‘Endekhelo’ after its presenters exhibited outright bias against those MCAs who are seen to be ‘anti-Wangamati’. They allege that one Bonny Wayne Nyongesa a former Royal Media employee now working as the Public Relations advisor to Bungoma governor Wycliffe Wangamati colludes with presenters (Levi and Kisondio) to make the program a County communications tool. The presenters are accused of attacking ‘anti-Wangamati’ MCA as they heap exaggerated and unwarranted praise on the county govt. “They have gone an extra mile to belittle and humiliate those MCAs just to please their masters” said a disgruntled MCA.

Bonny is said to be the one buying out (killing) ‘anti-Wangamati’ stories as he (on behalf of the government) sponsors ‘pro-govt’ content

Sulwe Fm 89.6 is a Luhya station broadcasting in Kibukusu dialect, a majority Luhya group in Western Kenya.

The MCAs have resolved to work MORE with other local radio stations in protest and have warned Sulwe Fm management that unless it reprimands the morning show presenters, they will be forced to totally boycott it but not before they petition Royal media services.

Mumbo Fm is a huge beneficiary from this protest having hosted;

  • Chairman Budget – Monday, June 13, 2020
  • Investor – Tuesday, June 14, 2020

In a rejoinder;

  • Levi; We do our work with high level of professionalism
  • Bonny Wayne; He distanced himself from the allegations saying he is NOT a communications officer who is mandated to handle such
  • Kisondio was unreachable

#iKUWEiKUWE Updates take;

  • Bonny Wayne is delivering his mandate as dictated by his ToR… But while at it he does very outrageous things some which have far reaching consequences;
    • He once FORCED a revenue enforcement officer to withdraw an assault case against his will from the police in the name of ‘Public relations’. The officer had been slapped, his phone damaged by a ‘pro-Wangamati’ MCA from Kibingei ward after he was requested the MCA to park his vehicle properly. The MCA instead slapped and threatened the county employee saying “you will hear from the governor” True the governor sent Bonny Wayne who gave the officer an ultimatum of withdrawing or redeployment to Tongaren

    • He has also been at the center of solving out-of-court of all assault cases involving executive goons
    • His involvement has since qualified him as a man who is willing break any law just to satisfy his boss regardless of who he steps on along the way (colleagues included)
  • Bungoma County govt. is desperate to be seen to be doing something they are not. That’s why;
    • It buys presenters
    • County employees have become songwriters for local artists… unfortunately they don’t pay the artists
    • The county has invested in online goons to attack, blackmail, abuse, character assassinate anyone who criticizes the county govt.
    • The county has invested in executive goons to attack, assault anyone who criticizes the County govt… and the govt. has money to waste defending the same in court
    • Wangamati himself found it necessary to create distractions… by prematurely taking on Wetangula to divert our attention from the corruption and misappropriation of funds by the county govt… and instead concentrate on Ford Kenya politics
    • Now he is hiding behind BBI to avoid arrests and possible prosecutions for previously investigated cases
    • …. The list is endless…
