Senator Wetangula REJECTS a Prado offered to him by Governor Wangamati

Thursday, May 14, 2020 at about 1400 hours the Chief Officer in the ministry of roads, Mr Marango on instructions from governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati dispatched a vehicle (like the one pictured) initially assigned to him (bought by the “Chinese” dual-carriage contractor) to Senator Moses Wetangula’s home. This happened a few minutes to the time the Assembly was due to have a special sitting that was scheduled to start at 1430 hours and whose agenda apart from the reorganization of their calendar, was to make changes in the assembly leadership.

Upon noticing a strange vehicle at the gate the watchman informed the Senator’s aide Mr. Wafula Wakoli who then inquired only to be told that the vehicle was being delivered for Senator Wetangula’s use while in the County. Wafula then contacted the senator who said he wasn’t aware of such an arrangement and therefore instructed him to send back the vehicle/driver which was done ASAP.

In a rejoinder a County govt official says the vehicle was delivered following the intervention from religious leaders and party elders… who requested that among other things a vehicle be availed for the senator’s use while in the county. He went ahead to dare the senator to pronounce himself on the matter

On contacting Wafula he informed #iKUWEiKUWE Updates that Senator Wetangula does not need to be facilitated and/or induced by Wangamati for him to undertake his constitutional mandate. “Bungoma County has enough needy cases to handle and the Senator’s mobility is not one of them. The senator will NOT be bribed to abandon his mandate in favor of condoning corruption and misuse of public resources” said the senator’s right hand man

• Bugged; Prior to delivery the vehicle it was fitted with advanced and almost unnoticeable gadgets with the ability to record (video/audio) from any angle, inside and outside with the option of relaying information directly to a phone/Laptop
• Blackmail; Upon receiving the vehicle Wangamati’s online goons were on standby to splash the news all over social media and would always use it whenever the senator asked tough questions bordering on accountability, Corruption, misuse of public funds among others… information gathered by the gadgets would then be used to the senator’s disadvantage
• Silencer: The vehicle was meant to silence the Senator from criticizing the county govt.
• It was also meant to soften the senator’s stand on the change of guard at the assembly
