A raid conducted by the Police on the evening of 23rd May 2021 at Marakaru village in Kanduyi Constituency recovered 44 – 20litre jerricans of chang’aa from mama Glady’s home. Gladys who was not home when the Police arrived is said to have gone for a funeral leaving behind her son who initially locked himself in the house before coming out and tactically sidestepping the Police and jumping over a wall fence. He disappeared into the rocky hill behind their home
The area chief who was at scene claimed that Gladys had called to say she won’t be home in time for she was away attending a burial ceremony

The incident attracted large crowds of onlookers from the neighborhood as the Police did everything to break into the compound and therefore access the illicit brew from the rooms
