Two family members the Brother and father to Bungoma County’s Education CEC had on Monday, 8 March 2021 morning arrived at Mukuyuni ward Administrator’s office with a view of processing bursary for a close relative alleged to be an orphan before collecting a cheque for the said relative studying at Kuywa girls. Mr. Job the Ward Admin asked the CECMs brother to produce his ID which he did before asking him to go get the school acknowledgement letter. John and his father left only to come back in the afternoon when the Ward Admin Job was absent claiming to be in possession of an acknowledgement letter and a receipt only to be told by the secretary that what’s required are;
- 2 receipts; (1) Block receipt addressed to the county and (2) Individual receipt
- Acknowledgement letter from the school
It was at this time that CEC Mayeku’s brother John Wafula went berserk. He demanded that he be given the cheque immediately since he was not been told of such a thing by his sister the Education CEC Ms. Betty Mayeku. He snatched some 2 cheques (not his) belonging to two students a move that saw them get torn; (1) Kitale National Polytechnic (2) Milani Sec School
This is the second time the CECs brother has employed such misconduct while invoking Betty Mayeku’s in both scenarios. Moves that have left the Secretary fearing for her life and by extension her job since she knows they will victimize her in a bid to turn the story around in favor of the CECs brother

CEC Mayeku’s brother by the name John Wafula had earlier in the day arrived at the ward office where he was advised to collect an acknowledgement letter for Phaustine Wambalaba (an orphan) from Kuywa girls. The ward admin claims he wasn’t around when John returned but insists the Secretary talked ‘badly’ to waziri’s brother. He went ahead to claim that no one else was in the office apart from the two… a statement #iKUWEiKUWE has proved to be a fat lie

- For Waziri’s brother and father to go collecting cheques for one student at two different times means this student is a relative to them… Indeed I have CONFIRMED so
- The documents waziri’s relatives were missing are supposed to be processed by her office…
- So waziri is the reason the brother knows and recognizes no rules/procedures?
- Its clear that the ward admin has been coached to give a fake story of what happened in his absentia
- Am reliably informed that the lady is going to be transferred for exposing and therefore “shaming” the CEC… How they forget that it’s waziri’s brother who started it all
- It is unfair that a CEC who earns a six digit would deny more deserving students in favour of her close relative
- The assembly should not tolerate that transfer nonsense
