On Nzoia Sugar issue Eddu, don’t you guys see there is a big problem?
How come none of our elected leaders, or even the media apart from ikuweikuwe.com don’t push for the workers pay with as much zeal as they do for the farmers? Are we employees less important?
Currently farmers’ arrears stand at a paltry 260 Million, while employees’ salary arrears is 1.4 Billion.
Actually it’s just only Kanduyi MP Hon. John Makali who talks about employees but clearly, not with as much passion as he does for the farmers.
Farmers’ arrears payment is actually below six months, spreading from August 2022, while employees’ salary arrears from January 2022 to date. Do you guys really have the facts?

Here the speaker is talking about 50 Million for employees. This is actually just one month’s pay for the over 3,000 employees (permanent, temporary, casuals, cane cutters and weeders), while the arrears is actually 23 months as at now (1.4B).
Do our leaders really have the correct figures? The payroll has so far been audited twice – by AFA and also the Bungoma County audit teams.
I actually read your article, It’s really weighty. Asante sana for fighting for workers’ interests, But our elected leaders surely? Speaker who is number three in command and is talking about just 50m surely?
Workers are really disgruntled as we speak.
