I am thrilled to announce that the Cabinet, under the leadership of President William Ruto, has given its approval for the write-off of Sh117 billion in debts owed by sugar companies.
Also, outstanding payments to farmers and employees will be fully cleared within a span of three months.
Furthermore, a significant stride in the right direction is the forthcoming publication of requests for proposals concerning the leasing of the five State-owned sugar mills in just two weeks.
These strategic actions are poised to reestablish confidence among our cane farmers and revitalize our Nzoia Sugar Company, not only ensuring its stability but also its profitability.
