Jubilee a party that was on its knees a few months ago before President Uhuru stepped in to revive it for purposes of winning 2022 general elections has again found itself at risk of losing more members if the party leadership allows DAP-K interference in its nominations. The party which fished Kabuchai MP aspirant Director Evans Kakai then Sirisia MP Major John Waluke from United Democratic Alliance (UDA) before going into a haywire – kinda offensive on all parties looked set to make major upsets in the region after realizing aspirants in almost all elective positions with some attracting more than one aspirant.

On Thursday 14 April 2022, Jubilee aspirants from Bungoma and other Counties arrived at the Jubilee HQ on the Party’s invitation to pick their nomination certificates only for Bungoma team being informed that they’ll be issued today Tuesday 19 April 2022 while other Counties mostly from Mt. Kenya region got theirs. This forced frustrated aspirants to traveling back to their homes as others opted to stay put in Nairobi until they get their certs.

Today Tuesday 19 April 19, 2022 more aspirants from different parts of the country thronged JP HQ from as early as 7am but by 3pm no certificates had been issued to specifically the Bungoma team prompting aspirants to gang up and confront Kanini Kega who despite addressing them and promising to act more swiftly in issuing the certs received condemnation as the aspirants pushed their way into the building in a bid to collect own certs.

While inside the same explanation was given to them but my rat informs that all certs were ready only that CS Eugene had blocked in the name of a coalition agreement certs for; Caro Buyela (Webuye East), Rebecca Masibayi (WR) and a Webuye West aspirant.

Speaking to ikuweikuwe.com one aspirant wondered why Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) would wish aspirants from a national party like Jubilee be blocked if indeed it’s not as strong as he alleges. “DAP-K is a village briefcase party that can’t measure its muscle with us that’s why they want to arm-twist our leaders in the name of non-existent coalition agreements… Jubilee must choose to allow us contest so that we see who is indeed strong on the ground… We stand a chance of getting more positions than they think … DAP-K, stop it and leave us alone. Our Party Leader is H.E President Uhuru.” concluded the Jubilee diehard.

Jubilee aspirants listen keenly to Director Of Elections Hon. Kanini Kega

Major John Waluke (Sirisia) and Dir. Evans Kakai (Kabuchai) have been issued with nomination certificates by Jubilee Party.

Already two aspirants have started processing a move to independent candidature

Rejoinder:

In a rejoinder,

  • Mr. Kizito Temba an aide to CS Eugene Wamalwa wrote;
How? When? Where? Talked to who? Quite insincere talk, cheap and hogwash!
Not true at all!
CS Wamalwa has no role whatsoever on matters issuance of certs to candidates in any part of Kenya …It’s the preserve of Jubilee National Elections Board …Those who know CS character know him better… He is a true democrat who listens to all and respects the democratic rights of all.
Any attempts to malign his name or character are misplaced and should be disregarded
  • Director Evans Kakai who is the Kabuchai Jubilee candidate and doubles as senior official said;
Aspirants have sacrificed a lot and should therefore be allowed to exercise their democratic rights. Any negotiations should preferably be done later on the ground involving all stakeholders and not at the Jubilee headquarters. I expect all aspirants to get their nomination certificates tomorrow for them to hit the ground running selling their manifesto(s) as soon as possible.
