HELP: Decades after traveling on a lorry to honor matches, Bungoma Rugby FC continue struggling

Bungoma Rugby FC was started in 1996 by like minded persons under patronage of Mwalimu Oliver Kituyi, Players; Emmanuel Sudi Wangamati, Antony Songoro, Antony Wambwa, Joachim Odo, Joshua wabuke, David Mumoki, Mike Okumu, Martin Aunyasi, Franc Agoro amongst others.

BRFC is pleading for financial support to enable it play tomorrow in Athi River on 2nd April 2022

The team played its first major tournament in Nakuru 10s whereby it was declared the best tackling team then the committed players a lorry as their means of transport to Nakuru to honor their fixture. It also acted as the changing/sleeping room for players.

BRFC has produced outstanding players for the national team and major clubs including the vice captain of agenda Simbas George Nyambua.

For the first time since inception the club is now in the quarter finals of the nationwide league. It is supported by mostly former players and fans.

The Western Region runners up Bungoma who lost 10-8 against Sigalagala have a date with Nairobi Champions Daystar Falcons at Daystar University Grounds in Athi River.

The team also plays in the 7s circuit

Following financial difficulties, a concerned official reached out to ikuweikuwe.com to assist publicize the team’s plight and seek for support from well-wishers after the County government of Bungoma disowned them saying they are busy with campaigns now.

Bungoma Rugby Football Club (RFC) was formed 26 years ago but has been surviving more or less on well-wisher support.

The financially unstable team has for the first time reached the nationwide quarter finals scheduled to take place on 2nd April 2022 against Daystar University @Athi River

It is the only club representing Bungoma county and it requires not only your moral but also financial support to represent our county.
