BUSIA GOVERNOR ORDERS THE REPAIR OF 5KM KABOSOKIPI-KAKOLODONG ROAD
Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong has ordered the immediate repair of the Kabosokipi-Kakolong road in Amukura East Ward, Teso South Sub County.
Addressing residents of Kakolodong where he went to hear their grievances at the weekend ), the Governor said indeed the road is in bad shape, thus the need for immediate action to make it motorable.
He said concerns by residents of scarcity of water in the area is genuine, promising to avail water rig that his government procured to save residents from travelling long distances in search of the vital commodity.
“We have expanded water coverage across the county to 56 percent from less than 40% since I took over as the first governor in 2013,” he said.
The county chief went down memory lane to explain to the villagers his infrastructural development in the area while he was the area Member of Parliament including purchase of land and construction of St Jude’s Katelenyang Secondary School and APAK Dispensary.
He explained that most of the secondary schools in Teso South Sub County including St Jude Katelenyang Secondary, primary schools and dispensaries were built through his initiatives when he was the Amagoro MP between 2002-2012.
” I have witnessed that Kakolodong residents have not been connected to electricity. My Government has teamed up with Rural Eletrification and Renewal Energy Corporation (REREC) to electrify villages across the country,” he emphasized.
Ojaamong also revealed that construction of state of the art Amukura Level 4 hospital is nearing completion, a move that will see an end to referrals to Busia County or neighbouring counties.
The Governor told Kakolodong residents that Busia is an Azimio La Umoja County with a plea to them to vote for Baba to assent to the office as the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya.
