At about 0700hours today 15th October 2021, Mathias Lukorito a bodaboda rider who doubles as Masten’s football captain in their village team was taking kids to school when he noticed a man he knows too well despite wearing a mask. He slowed down and briefly engaged him in a conversation just to know where he has been and where he is going to but only got a meaningless node.
Since Masten was walking from the sides of Nalondo headed towards his Mukhweya home, the bodaboda made a quick decision to inform the Police but was faced with time-constrains since he was to take the kids to school. He decided to temporarily abandon the journey to the kid’s school and instead head to Mukheya Police post but had to ride by the walking Masten again. Upon reaching him for the second time he asked him if he needed a ride but he nodded in disapproval.
The boda proceeded towards the police post but not before informing Moses Mukhwana a roadside chapati vendor asking him to keep an eye on the oncoming Masten. When Masten got to chapati guy he was not amused when the guy called him by his name prompting him to take off. The chapatti guy then gave a chase while calling for help from neighbours.
Masten first ran into an abandoned house but immediately exited through the back door leaving his chasers confused for a moment but later they traced him to the nearby house belonging to Mr. Musalaba, Sikusi Primary head teacher. The fugitive had accessed the housed through the bathroom window to take refuge but was flashed out and lynched by angry neighbors.
In the meantime, Mathias had informed the Police before carrying two of them on his motorbike in pursuit they got to the venue in good time but the police were overpowered by villagers who administered mob justice
#iKUWEiKUWE is reliably informed that barely an hour after his death area chiefs have ganged up to claim the former Nairobi governor’s Kshs. 200,000 reward. This has prompted an uproar at the scene as word came round of plans to give Sonko a chief’s number where funds would then be send. Villagers who retreated to side-talk were heard displaying their fears of chiefs shortchanging Mathias and chapatti guy. Shadrack Wangila one of those who gave the chase then asked “We did this without even thinking about the reward but the safety of Kenyans, we must nevertheless be rewarded directly by Sonko for we don’t trust that the chief will hand over the total amount”
Masten was born afew months after his mother separated with his father Robert Watila. She is said to have then moved to Kakamega where his upbringing was pathetic to say the least before she later brought him back to his father so that he could be taken to school. He was admitted at Namakhele Primary but later refused to pursue his studies. He later just like most of his family members ended up in Naivasha where the family seems to have to network that assists them get employed.
Masten loved football and was a utility player in his village team where he could play any position. At his death he wore his red short that he plays with whenever the team calls
The late Masten Wanjala who confessed to having killed and sucked blood of 13 children made a daring escape from Jogoo road Police station and was on the run prompting former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko to offer a 200,00 reward to anyone who will assist get him arrested.
