Speaker Ken Lusaka appointed President of a 12-State Forum of Parliaments

Rt. Hon. Ken Makelo Lusaka, Kenyan’s Senate Speaker has been appointed as the President of the Forum of Parliaments of Member States of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (FP-ICGLR).

Lusaka took over the Presidency of the key forum that brings together National Parliaments of 12 States, this 26 May 2021 afternoon.

The regional assembly seeks to incorporate a Parliamentary dimension in addressing the root causes of conflicts in the Great Lakes Region.

ICGLR is a key forum that brings together National Parliaments of 12 States. The regional assembly seeks to incorporate a Parliamentary dimension in addressing the root causes of conflicts in the Great Lakes Region.

Apart from Kenya, other Member States of the Forum include Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia.

Lusaka’s responsibility includes articulating the agenda of the region

The meeting was graced by ICGLR officials and Kenyan members of the Senate.
