Today Thursday, April 29, 2021 The County Government of Bungoma through the Department of Education and Vocational Training announced that applications for Governor’s scholarships are open to candidates who sat for KCPE in 2021, eligible to join Form one in 2021
In a letter received by ikuweikuwe.com, The Educations CEC Dr. Mayeku said;
This scholarship program was established in the year 2017 by H.E Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati with the specific objective of supporting outstanding and needy students from Bungoma County. So far 1,500 bright but needy students across the county have benefited from the program.
The prescribed scholarship application form is attached below. The form can also be obtained from respective Ward offices across the county or downloaded from the Official County Government of Bungoma Website (https://bungoma.go.ke/)
Eligible candidates MUST satisfy the following requirements:
Be a resident of Bungoma County
Must have sat for KCPE in 2021
Must have attained 350 marks and above in KCPE
Be resident of a ward from which he/she is applying from
Is vulnerable and must demonstrate a need for financial assistance
Students from special groups like PWD are encouraged to apply and affirmative action shall be taken to ensure equity.
Duly filled application forms plus relevant attachments MUST be submitted to the office of the ward administrator on or before 14th May 2021. Copy of admission letter will be required before scholarship confirmation.
Upon submission of the application form and required attachments at the ward Administrator’s office, applicants MUST be issued with an Application Reference Number.
