LET KEN DIE,.. KWANI ATAKUWA WA KWANZA? – COUNTY CHIEF OF STAFF MR. ALLAN CHENANE
Following an expose by ikuweikuwe.com on Wednesday, 14 April 2021 highlighting a horrible state of an ailing Ken Wafula aka Ken-BOUNCER, a personal but unofficial security aide to Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati. The county CEO on Thursday, 15 April 2021 instructed his Chief Of Staff Mr. Allan Chenane and the County Chaplain Bishop Siranjoru to take him to a hospital of his choice. Instructions that only Siranjofu undertook.

At about midday on Thursday, 15 April 2021 Siranjofu drove by and informed Ken of the good news and demanded that (as instructed) Ken gets into the car and is taken to any hospital of his choice. This idea was not accepted by Ken, his wife, Collins Wasike and Hon. Majimbo Okumu with the last two being the initiators of the idea to contribute funds for Ken’s specialized treatment and therefore had make all the necessary arrangements to have Ken see a doctor at Eldoret Hospital on Friday, 16 April 2021. After an extensive consultation with consideration that Ken had an appointment with his doctor the following day it was agreed that taking him to Eldoret on Thursday was ill advised since the county had no idea on which hospital nor the doctor to see Ken. The County Chaplain reluctantly accepted but not before making it clear to Ken’s family that only the county vehicle would take him to Eldoret and not Hon. Majimbo’s vehicle for that would then make Majimbo a hero.

Treatment;
In total the County govt. spend Kshs. 16,000 on consultation / Tests and Kshs. 4,000 on 2 out of the 5 required drugs. The governor’s blue eyed boy found it necessary not to request more funds for the remaining 3 drugs from his boss via phone but instead opted to pass by his Bungoma home. He also restrained himself from contacting the WhatsApp group leaders too despite of the fact that he was aware they had an ongoing contribution.
Cold reception at Wangamati’s home;
They made a stopover at Wangamati’s Ndengelwa home direct from Eldoret where Casper alighted and entered the house to brief his boss. He found the County CEO in a chit-chat with among others Maraka MCA Hon. Ali Machani Balala and the Logistics Director Simiyu Mutaki. Upon briefing them on what had transpired the topic quickly degenerated into an “edduh vs County government” supremacy where the ODM boss is alleged to have been engulfed in aloud laughter saying… “Sasa wacha tuone mahali eDDUH na hiyo ikuweikuwe yake wataenda” forgetting that the very eDDUH was the reason a county vehicle was send to Ken’s home on Thursday, Friday and subsequently the reason the governor’s top bodyguard took Ken to Eldoret.
While at it, Wangamati NEVER bothered to see Ken who remained in the car all the time (matters protocol) as Casper briefed his boss. After a few sips of their favorite drinks and “victory” chats, Wangamati dismissed Casper telling him to take Ken home saying he will provide funds the following day Saturday, 17 April 2021 for the remaining 3 drugs. He not only did so without the important drugs but also retained the prescription saying he’ll get the drugs and deliver.
Casper disappears for 24 hours with Ken’s prescription;
By Saturday, 17 April 2021 afternoon (24hours since Ken was delivered home by Casper) Siranjofu passed by to check on him but was surprised to realize that no drugs had been delivered. He made frantic calls to those concerned but they kept saying there were no such drugs in all chemists in Bungoma town. This response annoyed Hon. Majimbo and Ken alike to the point of demanding to be given the prescription so that they can get the drugs by themselves.
That prompted the County Chaplain to make a call to the Chief Of staff, Mr. Allan Chenane with a view of convincing Ken that actually something was being done. He put the call on Speaker {MAKOSA}… after informing Chenane of the challenges they are facing, Chenane retorted “Wacha Ken akufe, kwani atakuwa wa Kwanza?… dunia itasimama akikufa?… why did he leave Eldoret hospital?… he’d have stayed there instead of coming back here to disturb people” (Let him die, he won’t be the first… would the World end if he dies?). These words were so loud that Ken got up and boarded a bodaboda in search of Casper for the prescription leaving behind Hon. Majimbo and the now regretful Siranjofu.
Upon meeting Casper, Ken confided in him about the phone call adding that he doesn’t understand why the County govt. chose to step in if indeed it didn’t mean to assist. This triggered a chain reaction of events; Casper calls and briefs Wangamati, Wangamati calls and quarrels Chenane for the careless talk, Chenane calls Siranjofu blaming him of setting him up to Hon. Majimbo, Siranjoru apologizes but makes it clear that he did not do it for malice but just needed Ken to hear from him thru his (siranjofu’s) phone since Chenane never picks Ken’s calls…
He later arrived with it and handed it to Hon. Majimbo who then instructed Collins Wasike ~ The WhatsApp group’s administrator to liaise with the group’s treasurer with the purposes of buying the drugs. It was done within half an hour at Amylin Chemist located opposite Shariff’s Centre.

According to Khalaba MCA Hon. Majimbo, the WhatsApp team felt reprieve when Siranjofu arrived at Ken’s home on Thursday announcing that the county was taking up the matter and was not only willing to promptly take him to hospital but would pay all bills related to his treatment until he gets better… At this point the committee thought it’d be wise to enroll Ken with NHIF and pay for him a full-year package, cater for upkeep etc… BUT they had go back to the drawing board when Ken left home that morning and came back with no facilitation from the County and were therefore forced to give him some pocket money.
In total KEN WAFULA MEDICAL FUND WhatsApp group’s contributions stood at Kshs. 52,800 on Tuesday, 20 April 2021

- The KEN WAFULA MEDICAL FUND WhatsApp group must be prepared to take up all the remaining bills including the 30th April visit… I believe the coordinated social media attacks by the County key-board warriors is an indicator that the County is done and dusted.
- UNCONFIRMED reports now indicate that Ken has been relieved off his duties as one of Wangamati’s unofficial bodyguard and has therefore been banned from accessing the governor’s premises for “exposing” the governor… WRONG MOVE!!
- Clearly my priorities for Ken are quite different to Hon. Balala’s priorities for the ailing muscleman; Whereas I will continue pushing for P n P employment of not just Ken but the entire security team and therefore registration with NHIF to cover them in their dangerous professions. The former Mayor is contended with govt. paying 20k hospital bill and a car ride… NWAYS, ZOTE NI PRIORITIES
- Siranjofu gave us a headache in the last election by personally participating in pulling down Hon. Majimbo’s posters near his home… If indeed Chenane will fire him as he had threatened, am sure that’s one headache down for us come 2022
- Yaani Chenane doesn’t understand that it’s within the doctor’s prerogative to admit a patient or not??? Ken had no say on that.
