Kibabii University today Friday, March 26, 2021 held its 5th Graduation Ceremony that was graced by the Principal Secretary, State Department for University Education and Research Ambassador Simon Nabukwesi who represented President Uhuru Kenyatta, Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, Members of the University Council, Lecturers and afew guardians to the 13 doctorate graduates
Only 13 doctorate graduates were celebrated at the venue as the rest stayed at home only for a few of them getting lucky to be mentioned in absentia.
It was also the first time the institution recognised graduands by their “serial numbers” away from know traditions where all the three-four names to graduands would be called out as they stood in acknowledgement with anyone who cared to attend being allowed to join their loved ones. The event that would have otherwise been characterised by cheering, clapping and all sorts of loud celebrations whenever a name was mentioned witnessed unfamiliar silence throughout the programme thanks to Covid-19 protocols.
A total of 1,637 students graduated most of the missing the glamorous event due to the strict Covid-19 guidelines.

The graduation saw the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Ipara Odeo read the Citation for the Conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Sciences (D.Sc.) (Honoris Causa) upon Dr. Kevit Subash Desai before the candidate was robed by the Vice Chancellor assisted by the Chairman of the University Council.
