WANGAMATI’S IMPEACHMENT; Pretrial conference held amid forgery drama
Bungoma County Assembly today Monday, July 27, 2020 from 9am to 12 noon held a pretrial Conference for the Impeachment of Governor Wycliffe Wafula Wangamati at the chambers. The conference brought together all concerned parties i.e. Petitioners, respondents in front of the Public Administration Committee chaired by Khalaba MCA, Hon. Majimbo Okumu
-
- Petitioners – Prof. Nyukuru Barasa and Moses Lukoye
- Respondent(s) Wangamati – represented by Wakili Henry Makhakara
The pretrial conference saw rules of engagement set for the petition.
In 7 days;
- The petitioners must table a list of documents they want from the respondent(s)
- Petitioners to serve the respondent(s) the respective petitions and the ‘evidence’ at their disposal
- The respondent(s) must respond to those concerns
The Committee will on 7th Aug 2020 sit to confirm if all parties are in compliance
On 11th Aug 2020 the hearing of petitions will officially commence… Petitioners will run the committee and respondent(s) thru their document(s) one after another
FORGERY;
While at it, word went round the conference that Mosses Lukoye not Moses Lukoye the petitioner had withdrawn the petition. The document which was in the Clerk’s possession was allegedly delivered by Chenjeni an aide to Wangamati who is a specialist in doing dirty jobs. Having keenly looked at the document, the committee declared it null and void for it had the following faults;
- Mosses Lukoye
- Forged signature
- No rubber stamp
- The ‘messenger’ walked into the assembly without signing anywhere
- Forged letterhead
Lukoye will therefore be at the assembly on Wednesday on the same issue he wishes DCI to probe and arrest those who were behind it… including Wangamati who is said to have called to ask if Lukoye had arrived and upon being told that he hadn’t, he is said to have said… “let me send the letter”. Lukoye wants to know the connection between the two as he wonders why Chenjeni doesn’t learn lessons having been one of those in court for assaulting Lukoye previously
Meanwhile; Governor Wangamati was in a virtual conference with The President, CSs, Governor’s and other stakeholders
