Governor Wycliffe Wangamati’s nominee to the position of Chief Officer – Finance, Mrs. Dinah Makokha’s hopes of getting appointed turned into a battle to save self from being dragged to court after it was discovered that her certificate of good conduct was fake. In a letter received by the County Assembly of Bungoma, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations reacting to an enquiry by the Assembly on the validity/authenticity of documents she presented during interview said her document wasn’t valid
The Speaker, Hon. Emmanuel Situma on receiving the DCIs letter opted to refer the matter back to the Committee that vetted her… The Committee was yet to table its report on her when the speaker made the communication, forcing the committee to abandon the tabling
National intelligence Service (NIS), had also made a negative remark terming Dinah as immoral, corrupt and not fit to hold a public office
#iKUWEiKUWE Updates has learnt that; way back before devolution she was once suspended by the former Town Clerk, Jack Mukhongo for forging revenue collection receipts alongside two others (a Mr. Kabei and another lady). #iKUWEiKUWE is yet to lay its hands on the details of the court case that ensued. She nevertheless remained in the cold for a longtime before devolution blessed her with a job in Trans-Nzoia where she currently works as the Head of Budget
Our sources in the Committee says they suspected she could be hiding more info about herself when they asked her where she resides in Bungoma, she responded by saying she has a small home in Kamukuywa for convenience purposes. The Committee later learnt that her Kamukuywa house is actually Palatial. Dina’s husband is alleged to be aspiring to contest the Kamukuywa MCA seat.
Wangamati had on Friday, 26th June, 2020 forwarded the names of three to the County Assembly for vetting as Chief Officers hoping to have all cleared and was therefore scheduled to swear all the three today but the new developments have thrown him off balance even though the other two were cleared. The three names sent by Wangamati to the assembly were;
- Dinah Naswa Makokha (Finance) – Kimilili resident
- Edward Ouma Makhandia (Economic Devt) – Bumula resident
- Rosario Lumonya Soita (Water).
