Today Friday, May 29, 2020 COTU Secretary General Mr. Francis Atwoli hosted Luhya leaders among them Rt. Hon. Senate Speaker Lusaka, CS Eugene, senators, Governors, MPs in yet another attempt to achieve Luhya Unity.
COTU SG Francis Atwoli, Governor Oparanya and Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa were nominated to negotiate with Uhuru and Raila on behalf of Luhyas starting with appointments in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle
The meeting which took place at Atwoli’s Kajiado home, saw ANC and FORD-K party leaders skip
Taking to social media, Atwoli wrote;
Today, I hosted 40 Members of National Assembly, 4 Governors, 10 Senators, Speaker Ken Lusaka, CS Eugine Wamalwa, Speaker Beatrice Elachi and other eminent Luhya leaders to discuss issues that centered around Luhya unity and prosperity
They unanimously nominated me, Governor Oparanya and Waziri Wamalwa to lead negotiations with government and future political repositioning. We have resolved to start negotiations with GoK to revive the sugar industry and establish other viable industries in the region.
