  • Busia County leadership led by Deputy Governor – Moses Mulomi, Chief officer Health – Dr. Omeri, two Health Directors Dr. Ambuchi and Dr. Lutomia toured the facility where the contractor, Mr. Onyango announced that it was almost ready for handover.

FLASHBACK;

The County in August 2018 handed over the Kshs. 80 million tender to a new contractor  to complete the project that had stalled since its award in 2015

In 2016 Audit Report Auditor General Edward Ouko raised queries about the ICU and Emergency Centre. According to the report, Busia County allocated a whooping Kshs. 50 million to this project in the 2014/15 Financial Year. As per Mr Ouko the project was to be complete by June 2015. However, nothing was going on the project by June 2016 when the report was being released

“…upon completion and full operation, our ICU patients will no longer struggle covering long distances to MTRH – Eldoret. The BCRH facility will host a High Dependency Unit, Pharmacy, Theater and Causality wing” said Gov. Sospeter Ojaamong’ in an earlier interview with local journalists
