Mzee Nyongesa makwa has today lost his son who was trying to connect electricity to their home from their neighbour’s power line.
Noticing the need have power at their home the boy decided to connect a wire to a neighbours HANGING live wire using a maize cob and a small rodeā¦ Connecting it to the barbed wired fence that runs past their house.
The boy then attempted to cross the fence to the other side so as to go and connect at his father’s homeā¦ Unfortunately his neck touched the very barbed wire he had connected the LIVE wire to. It instantly electrocuting him
His body has been collected by the police.
In a rejoinder; Mr Langat, The KPLC Bungoma branch manager regrets the incident and informed #iKUWEiKUWE Updates that KPLC will investigate the matter, prepare an incidence report, have it looked at by a safety and health personnel who will in turn prepare a final report and thereafter send it to the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) {former ERC}… a copy will be send to the County DCI.
