BUNGOMA COUNTY GOVT TO OFFER FREE MASKS
Speaking at Wekelekha Vocational Training centre in Musikoma Ward, Governor Wangamati announced that the institution which has a capacity of making 1000pcs a day will scale up production to about 3,000pcs so as to ensure everyone in Bungoma gets one mask within two weeks
Priority will be given to:
▪️County employees
▪️Bodabodas
▪️Market traders

Wekelekha Vocational Centre of excellence boasts of 20 tailors in just a year of existence… Translating to about 6 masks a day per tailor
The masks being made at Wekelekha are WASHABLE and can be SANITIZED
The County is making these masks in collaboration with Rivatex

🔹 Callistus Nanjolicho recently questioned why the county ain’t producing these masks like Mama Rainbow is doing in Kitui.
⛔ Governor Wangamati says normal masks can be used for a 6 hours maximum… He goes ahead to say “I understand the ones we are making are WASHABLE and can be SANITIZED”
🔹 My Questions:
▪️If you make @3,000pcs a day (leave alone 1,000pcs you are currently doing), you will realize 42,000pcs in two weeks… Kwani hii hesabu ya kusema everyone in Bungoma will have a mask in two weeks ni ya Bungoma Town, Municipality Ama County?
▪️How many pieces will be given to each individual? Putting into consideration that each person has a family.
▪️Mode/means of distribution?
▪️I know you don’t have proper DATA of Bungoma populace… Take advantage of this exercise to collect more data.
▪️For Governor to purposely mention Rivatex they must have given something TANGIBLE (probably for free) that he CONVENIENTLY forgot to mention. What’s it? Any partnership/sponsorship?
⛔Maybe after Bungoma populace is sorted we can consider SELLING the masks to our NEEDY neighbours like Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and of course Transnzoia
