THE MUMIAS RESIDENT WHO WAS TRANSFERED FROM BUNGOMA TO MBAGATHI TESTS POSITIVE OF #COVID19

The 19yrs old student flew from Switzerland on the night of 15.03.2020 landing at JKIA via Emirates on 16.03.2020
▪️Flew the same day to Kisumu via Fly540
▪️Boarded Bungoma line shuttle to Mumias
▪️Stayed at home mingling with friends and relatives
▪️On 23.03.2020… He checked into st. Marie’s Mumias but was NOT attended to due to the long cues
▪️He boarded a bodaboda to Bungoma seeking treatment
▪️He was escorted to Lifecare – Bungoma by his relatives (father, brother) where the hospital ISOLATED and later transfered him to Mbagathi Hospital – Nairobi
▪️At Mbagathi the father, brother, Nurse and driver who had delivered him there we asked to go back home after being sanitized… They were advised to go and self quarantine themselves
▪️TODAY: The Kakamega public health office was instructed to track down the boy’s father and brother… With strict instructions to deliver them at Mbagathi.

? My source at Kakamega public health office says the patient tested +ve but is stable and responding well… He also says they are facing a bigger problem than they thought since in the villages… Quarantine means not leaving the boundaries of a home/village… “We are likely to put the whole are under mandatory quarantine”

Another source tells me the nurse and driver to the ambulance were immediately put to mandatory quarantine immediately they landed

STAY SAFE
