THE PUBLIC ADMIN DEPART ASST. DIRECTOR ORDERS ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO FUNDRAISE TOWARDS A 200K CLAIM BY A TRADER

At 2014 Madaraka Day preparations traders operating on major streets in Bungoma were asked by the county govt via notices from the relevant department to vacate.

Those who did not adhere were later forcefully evicted (via an order from the leadership) kufurahisha wageni since as wenyeji we know they came back immediately after the event.

One of the evicted traders who was not present during the eviction reported at the Police claiming she lost Kshs. 150,000. The case went silent until Dec 2014 when the OCPD instructed the arrest of the County Human Resource officer to produce the evicting officers.

The Municipality depart requested for 16 officers to assist in evictions which was granted by the Public Admin depart. Some of these officers were ones who enforced this very operation.

The issue was without giving the officers sufficient hearing decided that it’s an out-of-Police settlement and later (days ago) an asst. director in the depart of Public Admin ORDERED the enforcers (including those who were NOT at the scene) to do a fundraiser to settle the 200k.

My rat indicates that one highly placed relative to the trader is the one pulling strings in partnership with some county officials. The trader had demanded for a 300k settlement that was successfully petitioned by the Chief Officer Public Administration Mrs. Evelyne Wekesa and County Chaplain Bishop Callistus Barasa. The case was booked as a robbery with violence II. The complainant qualified the 300k demand citing Police station – 50K , treatment for her staff who was injured during the eviction and interest accrued by the 150K loan money.
