The Closure of Teremi High School was prompted by a destructive protest that happened yesterday 20.1.2025 where students damaged among other things the Principal’s car and infrastructure. This unrest is linked to an incident that happened on Friday 17th Jan 2025 where goons suspected to have come from Kimilili town (bodaboda) staged a protest against the head teacher at the institution’s gate. They were repulsed by the school workers in partnership with some locals.
My rat informs: Just after conclusion of KCSE examination, a rumor suspected to have been manufactured by some teachers alleged that the principal had been transferred to a school in Kitale. The suspected teachers included the then Deputy Principal who had earlier been appointed as a centre manager during the KCSE exams whose results were recently released. Teremi managed to get mean grade of 6 but also had 36 students getting Y.
