Aloud bang that woke up the late mzee Awinja’s family and tenants at Mupeli area, Bungoma town on Thursday 5th Dec. 2024 turned out to be a result of an arson attack that has so far claimed the life of Cynthia Maloba wife to Dennis Kundu as their 2 month old child battles for life at Moi Referral Training Hospital (MTHR) Eldoret.
Cynthia and her child were earlier taken to MTRH but she was send back to Bungoma County Referral Hospital after failing to secure a bed. The child was admitted though
Dennis was away at Ogalo in Butula when the incident occurred at 2am where he was building a home for his young family but his cousin Godfrey Awinja narrates what he saw during the attack.
According to Godfrey Awinja the area village elder who saw the four suspected assailants minutes before the unfortunate incident, indicates that this attack was actually targeted to kill him by those doing LOTTO business in Bungoma town and its environs. He goes ahead to indicate that he actually recognized two individuals out of the four that he saw that fateful night;
