Kanduyi MP Hon John Okwisia Makali has announced that his office has set aside Kshs. 10million for the purposes of benefiting 145 households with National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) cover in each of the eight Wards within his Constituency. The cover which will see the elderly and vulnerable (orphans, widows/widowers, the less fortunate etc) in the community being given priority will see beneficiaries identified through public vetting done with the assistance of Chiefs and village elders.
Makali made this announce during a Fundraiser at St. James Siritanyi Catholic Sub-Parish Church that was attended by among others Governor Ken Lusaka, Musikoma MCA Hon George Makari, Speaker to Bungoma County Assembly Hon. Emmanuel Situma, Minority Leader in Bungoma Assembly and Bukembe West MCA Hon Antony Lusenaka, Khalaba MCA Hon Cornelius Makhanu
ikuweikuwe.com has further learnt that during the launch, beneficiaries will fill forms that will clearly highlight their dependents to the cover
His online update reads;
We have allocated Sh10M from the NG-CDF for NHIF registration, aiming to support the elderly and vulnerable individuals within our community.
To ensure the funds are used wisely, we will conduct thorough vetting to ensure that only deserving beneficiaries receive assistance.
We kindly request the clergy to leverage their influence to encourage the youth and women in the church and in the community to form welfare groups.
My upcoming focus is on empowering the youth and women, and I believe this can be achieved more effectively when the target group is organized into cohesive and productive groups.
Together with Governor Lusaka, Speaker Emmanuel Situma, MCAs George Makari, Anthony Lusenaka , Cornelius Makhanu, we shared mass and later presided over a love offering in support of St. James Siritanyi Catholic Sub-Parish Church.
