Siilk Lounge Bungoma has today Monday, 10th April 2023 issued a notice informing patrons why its doors will remain closed as speculations fly around on the possible reasons for closure.
Word has it that indeed the business mogul is having a rough time managing his various investments but far from the truth, his managers have rubbished it saying since his election as MCA Matulo Ward in 2022 general elections, they moved in to fill the gap.
“The Hon. MCA has a very busy schedule and therefore ain’t able to monitor operations as he used to but his absence has not affected business operations” Said an employee who demanded anonymity.
The club has nevertheless seen its workers go for months without pay with suppliers lamenting about unusual delays in payment (which is normal in business)
Further, my rat has reached out to a member of Jumba family (Siilk’s landlord) who indicated that the establishment normally pays rent annually each September and has therefore no arrears. He also indicated that Steve Sonko signed for a five year contract and has been there for two years only… “We therefore have zero problems with it staying closed or otherwise…. Sonko had at one time indicated that he wished to extend his lease to another person but we reminded him that it’s subject to our involvement”

Speaking to ikuweikuwe.com Hon. Steve Sonko indicated that Siilk Lounge – Bungoma is closed for about four days with its anticipated re-opening being Saturday 15th April 10, 2023. The ongoing repairs will see the club undergo a total overhaul
