Prof. Charles Ngome Kibanani – Ford Kenya party (FK)

A Graduate of Makerere University and Kenyatta University (KU)

1982: As student leader in KU he was exiled in Uganda following an attempted coup in Kenya. While there he started his studies afresh at Makerere University where he later graduated and started teaching. He returned to Kenya in 1986 after President Moi pardoned coup plotters. He was then posted to BARINGO for four years before joining KU for his Masters and doctorate. Where he taught 1980-2008 before joining MMUST from 2008 to 2012 where he held the position of Commissioner for University Education and later resigned to try his luck in Tongaren Constituency

2013-2017: He was employed at Mt. Kenya University (MKU)

Throughout his employment Ngome assisted many vulnerable students get education

He became Bungoma Deputy Governor in 2017 following the victory of Wycliffe Wangamati as the Governor

In a bid to improve the quality of education in the County Professor wrote a proposal to have Bungoma Higher Education Loans scheme (HELB) introduced. It nevertheless wasn’t deliberated upon following the irreparable differences between the Executive and the Assembly. It still lies in the CECM Education office.

I’ll lobby for the tarmacking of all Type-C roads in Bungoma; (1) Turbo – Naitiri – Sikhendu – Babaton – Endebes. (2) Kakamega – Ingotse – Nabakholo – Dorofu – Mwibale to Musikoma junction. These are the only Type-C roads in Kenya that are not tarmacked”

Eng. Timothy Lukorito – United Democratic Alliance (UDA)

Engineer Timothy Kitang’asi Lukorito hails from Matumbufu village in Bukembe West ward – Kanduyi Constituency

• EDUCATION: He is an Alumni of Moi Primary, Kibabii High, Technical University of Kenya formerly Kenya Polytechnic, USIU, JKUAT among others.
• WORK: He worked for Kenya Airways, Housing Finance, World Bank among others.

Kitangasi is a renowned Civil Engineering Professional

He is a Strategist who is a strong believer in CSR and community participation. He is also a great education promoter and sponsor to several education and sports activities.

Has also greatly influenced faith based institutions and constructions of various churches in the County and country at large.

1. Oversight utilization of revenue
2. Lobby for extra allocation based on population and poverty index
3. Oversee and ensure all college/university students access HELB and Bursaries
4. Lobby for employment of our youths
5. Lobby employment of qualified teachers
6. Ensure payment of farmers’ dues by Nzoia Sugar
7. Lobby for revival of Malakisi cotton ginnery
8. Lobby for improvement of road infrastructure
9. Advocate for health cover for bodaboda
10. Organize scholarship for prospective students to overseas Universities/and colleges.
11. Lobby for establishment of constituent colleges of Kibabii University in at least 5 sub Counties

Walter Trenk – United Democratic Alliance (UDA)

Walter Mukinginyi Trenk is a lawyer and a cricketer. He was born and bred in Kituni Village, Webuye West Constituency – Bungoma. His father, the late Trenk Mukinginyi was elected to the location council in the mid-1950s and later the Bungoma County Council where he served until 1979, representing Bokoli ward (the current Webuye West Constituency).

Walter is the Acting Chief Executive Officer at Cricket Kenya.

He holds a law Degree from the University of London and an LLM from the Universitè Catholiquè de Louvain-Belgium.

He has been in politics as a strategist for many political campaigns including at the presidential campaign of Dr. William Samoei Ruto in the just concluded general elections.

He dons several hats;

• He is the UDA Deputy Organizing Secretary (Strategy).
• He is the Secretary General, Friends of Ruto Movement, a lobby group that campaigned for President William Ruto’s election since 2019.

He is passionate about human rights and a believer in the rule of law. He was a foot soldier in the struggle for the restoration of multi-party democracy in Kenya in the early 1990s where he worked as an understudy to the two Luhya political giants, the late Pius Henry Masinde Muliro and the late Michael Christopher Simiyu Wamalwa Kijana.

He with a lot of humility, is requesting for the kind support of the people of Bungoma in the forthcoming senatorial by-election and looks forward to working with them as their senator on a UDA ticket.

Eric Nakhurenya – Ford Kenya party (FK)

Eric is a Law and public policy consultant and the Chief Executive officer for Chat Africa Key which is a Real Estate consultancy firm

I served as the relationship officer at Equity Bank.

He does run CBOs in Kabuchai for the protection of water springs esp in 2014-2016 under Natural Resources Management by the WKCDD (Western Kenya community Driven Develop). Being a seasoned public speaker and trainer on Leadership and entrepreneurship, he has been running yearly conferences on the same for the last 10 years in Kabuchai constituency and some constituencies in Bungoma like Sirisia, Kimilili and Webuye

MY TWO-LEVEL AGENDA:

(1) County-Push for timely disbursement of revenue allocated to counties, Scout for investors in partnership with the National government and other external partners to support Bungoma, Assess or draft bills that are relevant to the interests of the counties. Finally, invest in youth, women and PWDs intervention programs that can support the lowly humble. I will roll out capacity building programs targeting business communities.

(2) Regionally – Already on the roll. Push for the establishment of a regional airport for Bungoma, Kakamega and Busia counties through the N.A speaker and Mudavadi with Dr. William Ruto.

(3). Lend our voices on issues of National importance at the Senate

N/B: He is a weekly columnist with the star newspaper and regular opinion sharper with Daily Nation.

In 2015-2016 as a consultant I had a chance to map out investment opportunities across Bungoma in all sectors and I believe we should exploit these investment opportunities to our advantage. Top on the agenda is pushing for the elevation of key link roads like the Chwele-Lwakhakha road to class “B” or “A” so that such roads can be given priority by the National government. We will have opened up another corridor for Bungoma at Lwakhakha border just like Busia has Malaba Border

I am keen to provide solutions that can solve the challenges that face people in varied sectors of the economy. I strive to be the best version of myself.

Robert Sifuna – Ford Kenya (FK)

He schooled at Teremi High and later Mt. Kenya University where he specialised in Criminology.

Sifuna runs an NGO that supports youths in the Country.

Hon. Moses Mwambu Mabonga – UDA

He is a former Bumula Member of Parliament who successfully contested 2017 elections on an independent ticket before joining UDA where he lost the 2022 elections to DAP-Ks Jack Wanami Wamboka.

Wafula Wakoli – Ford Kenya party (FK)

Wafula is a former High school teacher who has been an aide to National Assembly Speaker and Ford Kenya party leader Hon. Moses Wetangula for more than a decade now. He is without a doubt regarded as Wetangula’s right hand man therefore winning the sympathy, support of Ford Kenya supporters over time.

He is the only Ford Kenya candidate who has received endorsement from Wetangula and other party officials
