Ken Makokha alias Mr Lodwar at UDA Hustler Centre

Ken Makokha “Hustler” as he now popularly known by his peers and neighbors opted to cycle for 400 Kms from Bungoma to UDA offices in Nairobi just to pay the remaining Kshs. 25,000 being the registration fee balance for party nominations after he had made part payment earlier.

Upon realizing that the deadline was fast approaching, Makokha mounted his 15-year-old bicycle named Kukhu Nasimiyu in honour of his late grandmother… and hit the Malaba – Nairobi highway armed with the required KShs. 25,000/= to clear the balance.

It took him about three days to arrive at the Hustler Centre to his disappointment, he was informed that his hard earned money could not be accepted since the payment (registration) exercise had been closed.

Dejected, rejected and obviously fatigued… Makokha refused to leave the Hustler Centre where he intended to stay put until DP William Ruto satisfactorily addresses his concerns. “Edduh, mimi sitoki hapa mpaka chief Hustler a nisaidie” he concluded

Ken who has his eyes set on Bukembe East ward seat informs ikuweikuwe.com that he is embarrassed by the rejection by a party that’s associated with hustlers (watu wa chini) saying; “Kumbe they preach water while drinking wine?… hii chama yetu should know sisi ni watu wa chini meaning watupeleke polepole hasa mahali pesa inahitajika… sisi ni mahustlers”

Speaking to ikuweikuwe.com on 16.3.2021 from the Hustler Centre “Mr Lodwar” (his other nickname following the 2016 Bungoma – Lodwar trip) sounded optimistic that should he land the UDA nomination, he’d floor the sitting MCA with a huge margin because unlike him the MCA has lost touch with wananchi wa chini.

ikuweikuwe.com has ever since tried in vain to reach him in vain. We are also yet to ascertain if his initial Kshs. 25,000/= was refunded or not.

In 2016, Kennedy Makokha a Bukembe Secondary School Alumni cycled for 27 hours covering 400kms from Bungoma to Lodwar to cheer his former school play and therefore beat St Anthony’s in the Secondary Schools Term Two Games in the Northern Kenya town of Lodwar.
