The Speaker of Busia County Assembly Hon. Bernard Wamalwa today 12 Jan 2021 hosted a delegation from International Donor Community and National Government that paid him a courtesy call at his office. The delegation of heads of United Nations Agencies in the Country include UN Women, UNICEF and UNDP accompanied by officials from Ministry of Interior, International Budget Partnership, FIDA Kenya, CEDEC and Tropical Institute for Community Health.
The guests were taken round the Assembly to assess construction progress of the new multistorey office block project which is due for completion in two months’ time. Also in attendance were officers from the National Treasury, Controller of Budget, Inter Religious Council of Kenya, Council of Governors and Commission on Revenue Allocation.
BCRH GVRC, Maternity Wing Tour
The delegation led by Busia Deputy Governor, H.E Moses Mulomi later toured, inspected the Gender Violence Recovery Centre (GVRC) and the old and new Maternity Wings at the Busia County Referral Hospital (BCRH).
The delegation from the Joint Donor Mission was on the final day of the two-day tour of the county that started on Tuesday with a courtesy call to the Busia Governor, H.E Sospeter Ojaamong.
Those in the entourage include Jean Lokenga from Unicef, CPSB chairperson, Assumpta Obore, commissioners Thomas Taka and Mondalane Musundi, Chief Officer Health and Sanitation, Dr Isaac Omeri, Director Medical Services, Dr Janerose Ambuchi, BCRH Medical Superintendent, Dr Namudala Emukule, Gender Advisor to the Governor, Pascslia Makonjio and acting director Social Services and Gender Affairs, Peter Ogulla.
