Following demise of Brian Mwatiti aka Zain a bodaboda rider who had been killed afew days ago with his brand new being stolen in the process, Zacharia Barasa a gubernatorial aspirant offered to assist the family bury their loved one. He among other things provided a hearse and a coffin on top of assigning his team to help in other logistical arrangements.
Zachariah’s team leader Mr. Isaiah Sakonyi lead his team in escorting the family to the mortuary at around midday Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in a bid to collect the body only to be blocked at the entrance by the watchmen supported by goons who did not give a specific reason then but later after a heated argument that saw the arrival of Administration police and more goons they claimed that they would only allow them in if they fully paid for the body preservation costs. This annoyed the family and ZB’s team even more for they found this arrangement being applied selectively.
Speaking to ikuweikuwe Upates LIVE at the mortuary, Sakonyi indicated that this was the second time this is happening to families ZB assists and promised that they won’t condone it again.
Zachariah’s team also assisted another the family from Mwibale that had lost their mother Selina Aonja
The late Zain’s mum wondered why the county government would find it wish to stop anyone from assisting them when the county leadership had failed to come through when the family came calling for assistance. The condemned Governor Wangamati for sending Police and goons
