Erima Suleiman Namiri a total orphan scored 274 marks at Bungoma Muslim Primary School enough to help him join Maliki High School where he hopped to advance his footballing skills on top of education. The otherwise quiet winger has ended up joining his mum to cook and sell bajia at her kibanda in Mjini area – Bungoma town so as to get money to enable him join St. Teresa’s Sio High School where he’d be a day-scholar.
Sule-GR as he is popularly known by his teammates pleads for help from well-wishers to enable him join Sio High day school and later assist his family out of poverty. In the meantime he is determined to join forces with his guardian in selling bajia (Kshs. 20 per plate) until its enough to pay fees.
A letter from school indicates that should he fail to report at school by 6 August 2021 then he shall forfeit his chance.
When #iKUWEiKUWE visited his mjini home, we found the boy selling bajia and his disabled guardian seated on a wheelchair said she was unable to settle the financial needs at school. She pleaded with well-wishers to come to her rescue.
This comes as the County just concluded its launches of the County scholarship program which is purposed to assist needy cases. The program raised many questions than answers as more deserving cases seemed to have been left out
