Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is arguably the 2nd largest party in Kenya with branches all over including one in Bungoma county. The party that enjoys a huge following in Kenya but with dwindling fortunes in Bungoma has yet again found itself between a hard place and a rock after finding itself on the streets months after failing to secure a willing candidate in Kabuchai byelection.
Today 17 April 2021 our sources in Khalaba Ward informed us about the pending demolition of the office after part of the gate was brought down by the owner of the premises that hosts ODM in Bungoma. On visiting the site, #iKUWEiKUWE first ran into hills of sand and ballast at the gate as it did a LIVE STREAM…

#iKUWEiKUWE further learnt that the Party had not paid rent since January against its contractual commitment of paying Kshs. 15,000 per month, instead it is alleged that the party officials have been blaming Covid-19 pandemic for the delays.
Rejoinder;
Thru a renown journalist, ODM Bungoma branch chairman Hon. Balala disputes the allegations saying they still own the office. “It’s only that the owner of the plot wrote to ODM house requesting to be allowed to construct another structure within the compound, a request that was granted. The party has no rent arrears”

- Hahahaha The Branch boss is also said to be having issues with me highlighting this when I have an uncle elected on ODM ticket… Response; Mhesh, if you don’t know SG Edwin is my relative too but I doubt if they are the ones who kicked out the party neither are they responsible of paying rent.
- So Chair Balala wants us to believe that; during construction (say one or two years) … ODM will still be operating from a construction site with sand/ballast heaped at the gate?
- The last time I checked ODM had kicked out Hon. Majimbo from the Secretary’s position… So now the very ODM wants to use him to silence me??? Nways I’d still have highlighted even if he was the Secretary BUT with consultations.
