Ranje Village Friends put a special Christmas-smile to their Community

On 11th Dec 2014 Jane Sikulu the founder member and automatic chairlady of the group created a WhatsApp group with the objective of bringing together natives (born/live) of Ranje village working and staying in different parts of the World. The group currently enjoys a membership of 119 from different professions, ages and gender

On 3rd Dec 2020, eDDUHSimiyu proposed that the group contributes towards a donation of blankets to the elderly and vulnerable in Ranje village. A suggestion that was adopted prompting members to start contributing as guided by a communication on the group’s description that read;

This group was created by our Chairperson Jane Sikulu purposely to bring on board all RANJE residents. #eDDUHSimiyuâ„¢ proposed we contribute towards buying blankets for the needy, vulnerable and elderly residents of Ranje members deliberated and adopted the proposal EACH member shall DONATE a MINIMUM of 250/= which translates to ONE BLANKET Treasurer 0723490994 Donation date: 26.12.2020 Contribution Deadline: 20, Dec NOTE: ALL Members shall participate in identifying would-be beneficiaries

On 26th day December 2020, the group led by its duly elected treasurer Mwalimu Chris Wamboko, Peter Sikulu, Japheth Wesonga, Peter Mabele, Moses and area Elder (Mukasa) Mr. Gilbert donated blankets, food and non-food stuffs to residents in a Corporate Social Responsibility programme that saw the elderly and the vulnerable benefit. Beneficiaries were carefully selected after nominations and subsequent short-listing done by officials

They partnered with Kenya Red Cross Society and St. James Opticals to do an anti-jigger campaign that saw 22 patients treated and offered tom-shoes.
