ACK bishop George Mechumo talks to Kanduyi MP, Hon. Wafula Wamunyinyi

In Summary;

  • Governor Wangamati on BBI
  •  Bishop Mechumo on BBI

Speaking on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the burial ceremony of Henry Wamukota the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Bishop insisted the need to build one church called Kenya and not to leave anyone behind. He encouraged leaders to allow all views to enhance peace in the Country.

Sisi kama kanisa tunataka watu wasikize wengine

The man of God enlightened mourners on his heydays and therefore participation in politics where he displayed his admiration for the late Wamalwa Kijana who he said was loved by most Bukusus and would attract many at rallies like the one held in 1991 at Kanduyi stadium as young turks like the current Kanduyi MP, Hon. Wamunyinyi provided security. Mechumo said they had then moved from Ford to form Ford – Kenya. Then Wamalwa Kijana attempted to convince Bungoma people on a wish to join KANU but the people refused and that’s exactly what Kijana conveyed in the Parliament and therefore declined any merger with KANU. Mechumo asked Wamunyinyi and other leaders to emulate Wamalwa Kijana.

Mechumo said he supported inclusivity and therefore BBI as he narrated the church’s involvement in the handshake.
