Condolences and Recovery wishes;
This afternoon a grisly road accident has been witnessed along the busy Northern corridor at Kaburengu junction involving a matatu and a truck killing several and leaving scores injured.
My deepest condolences to the families,friends and relatives of those who lost their loved ones as i wish the best and speedy recovery to the injured.
Consequently I urge the government to put in place measures that will help to curb accidents along the said spot, including but not limited to establishment of the market for the many vendors at the junction.

Am saddened by the unfortunate loss of lives through a road accident that happened at around 2pm at Kaburengu interchange. Wishing those injured a speedy recovery.

Bumps are not the problem. They can in fact be more catastrophic. The problem always comes with tracks which lose brakes on their descent. It is always never a mistake of the track drivers. The problem is always with matatu drivers who pack just along the road. Matatu’s attract hawkers and when it happens, they all die.
The County government of Kakamega should buy land next to the interchange and build a proper bus stage where Matatu’s will be packing and hawkers selling their wares. As long as matatus will pack along the stretch, hawkers will follow them.
May those who lost their lives rest in peace. May God give strength to families of the dead.

It is with a very heavy heart that we have learned of the mass loss of lifes at Kaburengu in Kakamega this afternoon. A truck rolling down hill from Chimoi lost control & wiped out roadside traders & bodaboda youth. 12 dead on the spot! U’r all in my prayers & thoughts.

May those who have perished RIP.
The pain of losing a CLOSE family member through a tragic road accident is always devastating and long lasting. It leaves many questions which can never be answered. Some accidents can simply be avoided if people can be more careful. I always get surprised when I see boda bodas parking in the middle of road junctions disregarding oncoming vehicles.
The accident is regrettable.
