Kakamega Senator, Cleophas Malalah on Saturday 18, 2020 during his address at Mulembe Youth movement Bungoma chapter meeting hosted by ODM SG Edwin Sifuna encouraged participants to be pro-development as opposed to age. He cited some of the project he has initiated in Kakamega including;

- Cleo Malala FREE Medical Camp… 24,000 beneficiaries
- Cleo Malala Job & career expo – nurture young leadership
“It is not my mistake to be born after Wetangula”
… said Malalah in a speech that was clearly targeted at the Ford Kenya party leader
Malalah also thanked ANC party for announcing that they have delinked themselves from DP Ruto. He then asked them to now ditch their plans to remove him from the party since his mistake was fight the association with Ruto which the party has done now. The outspoken leaders also took on his 2022 gubernatorial rival, Hon Savula telling him not to expect HANDSHAKE to protect him from his cases at DCI. He encouraged DPP and DCI to do their work.
