The return of Magudah and Grace Sundukwa to the oversight dream team… By Nyukuri

Hon. Joseph Maguda and Hon. Grace Sundukwa to the County Assembly of Bungoma Transformational and new oversight Dream Team.

1. Your Administrator is happy to announce the return of the elected MCA for Township Ward Hon. Joseph Magudah, who is the Deputy Majority Whip to the team change fraternity after a short sabbatical leave, forced interaction and association with Team status quo.
2. That Hon. Joseph Magudah was among the ODM MCAs who were airlifted to Nairobi to meet Baba Raila Amolo Odinga sometimes last month.
3. While at the said meeting with his Party leader in Nairobi, Hon. Joseph Magudah was reluctant to endorse or support team status quo in the County Assembly of Bungoma that was being imposed and supported by the President of the County Government of Bungoma.
4. Upon return to Bungoma County, the County President decided to use the Deputy ODM Party leaders who is also the Governor of Kakamega County to lobby Hon. Maguda and other ODM MCAs to support team status quo. The meeting was held in one of the Kakamega Governor’s magnificent ? hotel in Kakamega County.
5. That that meeting with a section of the ODM elected and nominated MCAs from Bungoma managed to somehow convince some of the nominated MCAs into the team status quo camp, but Hon. Joseph Maguda who was the only elected MCA that attended that meeting in Kakamega was still reluctant to join team status quo.

   

6. That a few days later, the team status quo led by the President of the County Government of Bungoma managed to convince Hon. Magudah to sign a form to join them.
7. That unfortunately as reality dawned, Hon. Joseph Magudah began to realize that he was lonely and his conscience was disturbing him for joining a team that he was not familiar with its agenda.
8. That Hon. Joseph Maguda agonized for some time and decided to sign an affidavit with his lawyer to denounce his affiliation and association with team status quo.
9. Members of this esteemed Forum and County Citizens of Bungoma can you join me in welcoming Hon. Joseph Maguda back to the Team Change at the County Assembly, which has no known party or coalition loyalty, except the constitutional mandate and cardinal functions of the County Assembly namely, Representation, Legislation and Oversight.
10. I also take this opportunity to sincerely thank Hon. Grace Sundukwa, elected MCA for Sitikho Ward in Webuye East for return to Team Change after being hijacked and forcefully manipulated some times last month by team status quo led by non other than the Chief Executive Officer of Bungoma County.
11. Hon. Grace Sundwa went through a very bad experience when his ailing father was woken up very early in the morning to accompany team status quo to her newly constructed house without any notice or invitation.

12.That Hon.Grace Sundukwa was forced to sign some forms under Durance to support team status quo.

13. That Hon. Grace Sundukwa did sign the form against her will and conscience but later decided to go back to team change of the County Assembly of Bungoma that has shaken team status quo who boast of having “limotole” and crude power but lacking public relations skills to persuade Honorable MCAs.
14. I wish to inform this forum that three ODM Women nominated MCAs are on their way back to the team change camp. It is just a matter of time before they come back.
15. We should encourage them to search their soul and carry out self introspection to make informed choices of whether to remain in the camp of team status or revert to the team change camp.
16. One lesson that has emerged from the foregoing shenanigans is that limotole and crude power won’t be sustainable in an environment where there is no respect and good public relations with the elected and nominated MCAs of Bungoma.
17. That the majority of the Honorable MCAs have resolved to carry out their representation legislation and oversight functions without fear or favour. This notwithstanding the perennial threats intimidation, undue influence in form of handouts and promises by the County Chief Executive Officer and his cronies in the County Government of Bungoma.
18. That the MCAs across the political divide have resolved to serve the county citizens regardless of party and/or coalition affiliation.
19. That the Transformational Leadership and majority of both elected and nominated MCAs in the County Assembly is not worried about the chest thumping, “limotole temptations” , collection of signatures and threat of dissolution orchestrated by the President of the County Government of Bungoma and his cronies.
20. That even the few MCAs around eight (8) who still support team status quo are not comfortable with the chest-thumping limotole temptations and threat of dissolution orchestrated by the County Chief Executive Officer.
21. That team status quo recently supported its candidate for the position of Deputy Speaker but failed to marshal numbers to get their way. This forced their candidate to withdraw from the race after sensing defeat.
22. That team status quo and its few (MCAs) in the County Assembly are ‘a worried lot’and they don’t know what will happen next as they have been stripped of Committee Chairpersons and the number of Committees they belong to reduced.
23. Currently, Team Status Quo is at the crossroads since it has burned all known avenues and bridges of mediation and reconciliation with the Team Change in the County Assembly through its chest-thumping limotole pride and witch-hunting of critics of the powers that be.
24. The team status quo can not take its warlords in the corridors of the County Government Offices, keyboard warriors and online goons in the social media who are busy vilifying and abusing team change MCAs and critics of the powers that be.
25. The team status quo is telling everyone who care to listen to them about how close they are with the President of the Republic of Kenya and BBI and therefore they are “indispensable and unbwogable” throughout their tenure in Office and even as they plan to seek re-election in 2022.
26. They are bragging in public forums and media that with limotole they will easily recapture power during the 2022 general elections. That Team Status Quo is breathing fire and promising holocaust and total defeat to the Team Change MCAs, who will not only be de-whipped and de-campaigned in 2022.
27. That Bungoma County politics in 2022 has high stakes and ? money may be a factor but definitely not the main factor. The electorates will be voting against bad Governance, bad leadership,corruption, misappropriation and mismanagement of public resources and unfulfilled promises and election manifestos.
