FACTS:-

1. In 1972, Joseph Mobutu, the former president OF Zaire (DR Congo), changed his name to Mobutu Sese Seko Nkuku Ngbendu Wa Za Banga , meaning “the all-powerful warrior who, because of his endurance and inflexible will to win, goes from conquest to conquest, leaving fire in his wake”.

2. Mt Elgon in the Eastern Uganda district of Mbale and Western Kenya County of Bungoma, was once Africa’s highest mountain!!! It exceeded Kilimanjaro’s current 5,895m, but erosion has since reduced its height to 4,321m, relegating it to the 4th highest peak in East Africa and 8th on the continent?.

3. The Ugandan Flag was adopted in 1962, the year Uganda gained independence from Britain. It has 3 colors; Black for (Black People), Yellow(sunshine), and Red(brotherhood). The raised leg of the Crested Crane means Uganda is moving forward. Uganda had 4 flags before this one.
