One old woman is dead and her husband is in critical condition in Kaptaboi mudslide in Chesikak ward Cheptais sub-County.
The incident happened this afternoon after a heavy downpour which started from morning to this evening.
Eye witnesses say the old woman was outside her house when she noticed mud rushing down towards her. She tried to run away in vain before being crushed to death.
Her husband who was sick and resting in the house was lucky to escape unhurt although the house was partly destroyed. The old man is now admitted in hospital.
Let’s plant trees and not farm on sleepy areas.
