*Highly ‘protected’ Kimilili Boys High Sch. bursar fails to account for 255,000/=*

Mrs Margaret Simiyu, St Luke’s Kimilili boys high school’s bursar is on the spot for FAILING to ACCOUNT for Kshs. 255,000/= in cash, money that was in her custody during the change of guard in the principal’s office on 27.3.2020 when the current Ag. Principal Mr. Anunda (deputy for 5 years) took over from the retired Mr. Ezekiel Nyariki

14.4.2020… Failure to pay 3 months salaries for 16 institution’s workers is what prompted the board to put her to task to explain the whereabouts of the cash.

21st April 2020… No response

8th May 2020 … She was suspended pending investigations

11th May 2020… She was scheduled to appear before the board but did not turn up

PUZZLING INVOLVEMENT OF THE COUNTY DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION, AUDITORS

15th may 2020… She turned down yet another summon by the board but surprisingly County auditors led by Mr. Mugambi acting on instructions from Mr. Esewe, the Bungoma County Director of Education showed up UNINVITED when the board had just adjourned their sitting following Margaret’s failure to appear. A few of the board members who were still around had an opportunity to witness a rare show of impunity and what looked like a choreographed turn of events.

It is alleged that Mr Mugambi sounded a warning to the few board members present that if they don’t agree to wishes from above they risk being fired. He then proceeded to call Mrs Margaret who turned up in record time and allowed her to collect the institution’s accounting books/documents as HOMEWORK. She was allowed to carry them away for the purposes of developing a report on the missing cash. She was not given any deadlines but instructed to deliver the report on the DoE’s desk upon completion

22nd may 2020… The board sat again and made resolutions, among them;

  • Going to court
  • Demands that the DoE pronounces his interests
  • Workers must be paid
  • The Institution’s money must be accounted for

  1. Is ST. Luke’s Kimilili under the county government? I don’t see where the county director of education gets power yo interfere the affairs of a school which by lay is under the national government.

    • This is a sign of ignorance that should never be put up with .
      Who doesn’t know that CDE is National Director of Education but under the category of a county level. That the Tittle County Director of Education is a reference to the area size of jurisdiction.
      Don’t be stupid anyway!!!
