Shimala Bandu – Kisawai road, Siboti constituency

On Thursday, May 28, 2020 Hon. Caleb Amisi issued this statement on roads;

STATEMENT ON THE STATE OF ROADS IN SABOTI

My attention is drawn by the questions being raised by Saboti Constituency residents concerning the upgrading of the following roads to bitumen standards;

✓Turbo-Tongaren-Kiminini-Saboti-Endebess-Suam.

✓Kambi Miwa-Birunda-Lukhome-Machewa-Kaptama.

✓Kitale-Kipsongo-Kitalale-Kisawai.

✓Koykoy-Index-Saboti Centre-Gitwamba.

As the Member of National Assembly,I have reached out to various authorities so as to ensure that the upgrading of the roads stated above begins.

In 2018,I raised this concern in Parliament.I did the same on 12th March,2019 in the National Assembly posing a question to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development concerning the deplorable state of roads in my Constituency and that during rainy season they are impassable.

On 8th October,2019, I paid a courtesy call to the PS State Department of Infrastructure and Public Works Hon.Paul Maringa and discussed the upgrading of major roads in Saboti Constituency to bitumen standards,he assured me that the work will be done.

On 20th December, 2019 I hosted CS James Macharia EGH,Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development,he was accompanied by PS Paul Maringa and KENHA Director General Peter Mundinia among other Ministry officials,we had lengthy talks concerning the state of roads in my Constituency.

I also paid courtesy call to Dr.Fred Matiang’i EGH,Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Security and shared with him my concern on the pathetic state of roads within Saboti Constituency,he promised to push for the implementation of the project.

I met Dr.Eng.Karanja Kibicho ,PS State Department of Interior,we discussed matters concerning the same roads and later on forwarded a letter stating the proposed roads for upgrade.

I would like to appeal to my esteemed Saboti Constituency residents to remain patient as the roads upgrading project has reached it’s implementation stage and the work will commence any time from now.Saboti Constituents have been served by the past leadership but remained behind in development.I will strive beyond limit to leave a mark in Saboti Constituency.

God bless Saboti.
