SEVEN PEOPLE PICK NOMINATION FORMS FOR BUSIA COUNTY ASSEMBLY SPEAKER’S POSITION THAT IS SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2022.
Clerk to the County Assembly, Allan Mabuka said the nominees include: Dir. SOW Contractors and VC KNCCI Busia chapter, Eng. Fredrick Odilo, Advocate at Namada and Company Advocates, Josephat Namada and Director Human Resource and Administration, County Government of Siaya, Roselinda Barasa.
Others are Attachee at Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), Shadrack Oduor, hotelier Evans Bwibo, Akotsi Bramwel Kennedy and Denis Adweya.
The Clerk also revealed that six Members of the County Assembly have picked nomination forms for position of Deputy Speaker.
They are Denzil Edung’lot Musumba ( Chakol South Ward), Johnstone Bwire Makabwa (Nangina) and Denis Okinda (Matayos South).
Others to battle for the coveted seat include Ronald Kakyada Ochalu (Malaba Central), James Ong’ole (Ang’orom) and Dalmas Onjole Ekilejo (Chakol North).
Mabuka said preparations for the first sitting of the County Assembly is on top gear with the first agenda being the taking of oath of office by respective MCAs. This will be followed by election of Speaker whose winner will replace, Bernard Wamalwa who had served for two terms.
