DAP-K PRESS RELEASE
SPEAKER LUSAKA STOP DELAYING SUGAR BILL
DAP-K Party leader and Kanduyi MP Hon. Wafula Wamunyinyi has written to the speaker of Senate to fast track the Sugar Bill (KNA Bill No. 68 of 2019) that he sponsored, passed by National Assembly and forwarded to Senate in November 2021 for concurrence.
As a party and understanding the importance of the Sugar sector to our economy, we urge the senate speaker to prioritize the passage of the bill to ease the suffering of the farmers. The bill lies idle in the Speaker’s office and it’s passage will among other things protect farmers and strengthen the sugar sector. Reforms / revival of the Sugar Sector await this Law.⁦
