Following the recent unrest that saw three dormitories burnt in two months, Khasoko Principal Mr. Daniel Orachi Wasambo is alleged to have lobbied for the transfer of 6 male teachers from the institution accusing them of colluding with the arsonists. The school has in less than 2 months saw several arson attacks on dormitories;
- 24th Jan 2021 @7.45 pm – Zimbabwe House
- 2nd March 2021 @9.20am – Kenya House
- 8th March 2021 @5.10am – Zimbabwe House
- 9th March 2021 @5.30pm – State House, a brand new 2.6million building
Mr. Orachi has received his fair share of blame from both teachers, students, parents and locals residing around the institution. The Principal who is alleged to be an absentee leader prefers working from home and rarely picks calls from teachers/workers is also alleged to have been transferred to Khasoko from Usenge High School in Jan 2020 after two dormitories were torched by students. During all arson attacks at Khasoko High the Principal is said to have gone into hiding leaving the very teachers he has transferred to deal with the situation.
He is also accused of among others;
- High handedness
- Rarely listens to views from teacher/students
- Facing audit queries over 10million debt at Usenge boys
- Avoids meeting students (Kamukunji)
- Absentee principal… Works from home and rarely picks calls from teachers, Workers
- Prefers working with women…
- Alleged to have given area Sub-chief Kshs. 2,000 to induce local based students to fix teachers (Bukusu – Non locals) … This given locals an opportunity to settle scores with “foreign” teachers. Those fixed are in the school’s top management
- One BOM teacher has been sacked allegedly because of his good relationship with former Bumula MP Hon. Boniface Otsyula
