Bukusu Caucus (BC) comprises of Professionals, thinkers and opinion leaders from Bungoma and Trans-Nzoia, as well as members of the Bukusu Nation living in the other parts of Kenya and the diaspora. It was founded in mid 1990s under the leadership of Professor Kasili as the pioneer Chair with Architect James Wanyonyi deputizing him. The group was then recognized as Bungoma Professionals Grop (BPG) whose primary initiative was re-uniting Bukusus… It was later taken over by a new crop of officials led by Prof. Wafula Okumu scaling it to new heights.
Bukusu Caucus statement;
Endorsement of Dr. Gasper Mufutu Waffubwa as the next MP for Kabuchai Constituency
We members of Bukusu Caucus enthusiastically endorse Dr. Gaspar Mufutu Waffubwa, an independent candidate, as the next MP for Kabuchai constituency. We believe Dr Waffubwa, with an intimate understanding of the problems facing the people, is the best qualified aspirant to help Kabuchai Constituency to address its development challenges. He recognizes the need for literacy for our children by committing to improve education and training infrastructure and completing educational projects established by the late Hon. James Mukwe Lusweti. Dr. Waffubwa is the only candidate with the agenda that will set Kabuchai on a path of strong and positive growth and economic development.
This agenda is;
Enhancing public health services
Enhancing agribusiness and value addition of farm produce
Improve road networks
Providing safe and clean water
Creating employment
His main goal and aim if elected is to eradicate poverty and uplift the living standards of the people of Kabuchai. He has demonstrated that he has considerable support of members of this esteemed Caucus who are able and willing help influence voters in his favor
The Caucus has confidence in Dr. Waffubwa’s ability to ably represent the people of Kabuchai Constituency in the National Parliament. He has proven that his leadership is not transitional by engaging in significant development projects to uplift the welfare of the people Kabuchai even without holding an elective position. People who have interacted with Dr. Waffubwa speak very highly of him as was evident in the many statements that were posted on this wall about his character. Specifically, he believes in and respects the rule of law. He listens and seeks out views on important issues. He is committed, honest, and not tainted by corruption. These are some of the qualities of leadership that this Caucus promotes. It is important that we support our values by supporting, voting, or telling others to vote for Dr. Waffubwa
Like many other areas in Bungoma County, Kabuchai Constituency still experiences acute poverty more than 5 ½ decades after the country gained independence. The Constituency has a shortage of basic necessities for human life, such as shelter, sanitation, clean water, medical care and education. To this day, there are villages in the constituency where women and children trek miles to fetch for drinking water. Dr. Waffubwa has a clear plan to these issues for the development of Kabuchai constituency and the larger Bungoma County. His strategy consists of
It is for these consideration that the Bukusu Caucus endorses Dr, Waffubwa. Together we can eradicate poverty in Kabuchai Constituency and our twin-counties. Together, we can help elect servant leaders that can put our community on the path to socio-economic development. We look forward to electing Dr. Waffubwa as the MP for Kabuchai Constituency so that we can start acting on our agenda for the twin-counties

Bukusu Caucus Endorsement of Dr Gasper Waffubwa for Kabuchai Seat (1)
#iKUWEiKUWE Corner;
- Gasper Waffubwa will greatly reap from the possible Jubilee party whipping that is scheduled to take place on Thursday when the NEC sits to chat a way forward… #iKUWEiKUWE rats indicate that ALL jubilee elected leaders/members will be barred from supporting candidates NOT supported by the party leader… meaning Evans Kakai risks doing this race minus the support of DP and his brigade
- #iKUWEiKUWE rat informs that Gaspar is considering making friends with Jubilee MPs as well as FORD Kenya splinter group just in case…
- The biggest hurdle Gasper will face is the tag “We-Engelekha”… meaning he has been away living abroad for long to know the real problems on the ground and therefore voters might not see sense of belonging
- Bagging Bungoma Caucus’ endorsement means puffing ones financial muscle
